Outside a market on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, people rummage through fruits and vegetables that have been thrown away, to grab whatever is salvageable. It's where Anahí Robledo gets the food to run her community kitchen. She feeds 50 families daily

Argentina is battling an economic crisis which could see inflation hit around 150% by the end of the year, one of the highest rates in the world.

"You can't keep count of the dishes we have to make for that amount of people," said Robledo, a 47-year-old domestic worker who volunteers on the side, as she kneaded bread. Argentina has long battled high inflation, currency weakness and indebtedness, but high global prices linked to the war in Ukraine and one of the country's worst-ever droughts have hit its ability to stabilize its economy.Argentina's official statistics agency is set to release official inflation data for May later on Wednesday, with analysts predicting a monthly rise of 8.8%, even faster than the 8.4% jump a month earlier. The annual rate is already 109%.
