Tampa natives Kyle Tucker, Lance McCullers Jr. fuel Astros' sweep of Rays

“He's a really good guy, a great teammate,” Tucker said of McCullers. “He's always wishing the best for everyone on the team. I mean, I love playing behind him. I know he loves everyone else playing behind him and he gets really excited for guys whether they hit homers or get the winning run across and stuff like that so he was pretty pumped up out there.”
Houston has now won seven straight road games and whittled its magic number for home-field advantage in the American League playoffs to five over the New York Yankees.Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is considered day-to-day with what the team described as “left elbow discomfort.” He departed the game in the sixth inning after being hit by a pitch during his fifth-inning plate appearance.
After Tucker’s homer, Martín Maldonado added an insurance run with a ninth-inning solo blast, tying his career high of 14 homers . Aledmys Díaz, starting at third base in place of Alex Bregman, drove in Houston’s first two runs of the game.
