Asia markets will await BOJ governor nominee Kazuo Ueda's speech to Japan's upper house on Monday.

Japan has been attempting monetary-fiscal coordination since 2013, with a joint statement by the Bank of Japan and Prime Minister Shinzo Abes administration pledging to work toward 2% inflation and sustainable economic growth. Under Abenomics, as its known, the price goal was supposed to be achieved in just two years. Six years on, inflation is stuck below 1%.
The Nikkei futures contract in Chicago was at 27,335 while its counterpart in Osaka was at 27,330 against theInvestors will be watching key economic developments across Asia. Bank of Japan governor nominee Kazuo Ueda is expected to speak to the upper house on Monday. Japan will also release its unemployment numbers later in the week.On Friday, U.S. stocks fell sharply as the U.S. Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge showed a stronger-than-expected increase in prices last month.
