Matthew Rutter, 29, of Conneaut, Ohio, was wanted by the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office and Conneaut Police Department for rape and three counts of gross sexual imposition.
OCALA, Florida — An Ashtabula County man accused of raping a minor was taken into custody Tuesday morning after he was found hiding in a van in a forest in Florida.
According to the Marshals Service, Rutter disappeared in July 2022 after he was accused of sexually assaulting a minor from January 2017 to January 2019. Rutter was seen in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, but he eventually was tracked to Florida.
