It’s a massive week for Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Both teams have double game weeks, with Arsenal hosting Brentford and City at home against Villa on the weekend before the pair face each other in London on Wednesday.
The questions swirling around City at the moment shouldn’t really have an impact on their performance on the pitch, but they should certainly create some angst among fans. The Premier League levelled more than 100 charges against Manchester City this week for financial irregularities. Everything from overestimating sponsorship money to hiding payments to staff.
Now projections in the wake of these charges suggest that it could take between 2-4 years to all sort out. However, this could still place serious restrictions on the players City can bring in while the manager’s future is also a massive question mark. What will be interesting is how tough the Premier League stays in the fight. See Italy where Juventus, a far larger club than City, were docked 15 points for violations essentially tossing them out of the chase for next season’s Champions League.Article contentLeeds and Manchester United played a thrilling 2-2 draw on Wednesday in a rescheduled game, and play again immediately, this time at Leeds, on Sunday.
