The Ottawa Senators started a pivotal stretch Friday night with the clock ticking towards the NHL trade deadline.
The Senators were six points in back of the Detroit Red Wings for the final wildcard spot in the East. Dorion has options on the table, but he wants to see where this team heads over this four-game stretch before making a determination on a direction. If he’s going to be a buyer, the Senators would like to add a top four defenceman and a depth centre to the mix. Other possibilities are Minnesota’s Matt Dumba while the Los Angeles Kings could move one of Matt Roy, Sean Durzi and Sean Walker.
