Montreal educators are stepping up efforts to ensure new generations learn about the roots of genocide and hate.

The museum is expanding into new grounds in 2025 with the aid of grants from the federal, provincial and municipal governments. It had 21,000 visitors last year, half of them from schools. Studies have shown Holocaust education helps to make people become “more tolerant and comfortable with people of different backgrounds and races, and made them more likely to challenge incorrect advice and information,” Fogg said.
