He lives near Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, one area where a conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and a rival paramilitary group, Rapid Support Forces , has been concentrated.since the violence began in April. Elsheikh’s three other brothers have either fled to different parts of the country or escaped Sudan as refugees to a neighbouring country. Her nephew tried to flee north by car on a desert road — since attacks can take place on a main road — but now family have lost contact with him, too.
