No arrests have been made in the attempted robbery of the Dollar General in West Akron.
AKRON, Ohio — A man armed with a handgun gave up on his attempt to rob a Dollar General store after the clerk was unable to open the cash register, police say.
The suspect entered the store on the 900 block of Copley Road in the West Akron neighborhood at about 9:30 a.m. He took out a handgun and demanded money from the register. Foiled by the clerk’s struggles with the register, the man ran out of the store. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and facemask.
