“I just wanted to do something nice and I’m in a position that I can.'

Dan Gallo, a Prince George arm wrestler, made a $5,000 donation to the Child Development Centre in Prince George on Wednesday because of all the good work he hears about the centre from his wife, Sadie, who works there.

“I just wanted to do something nice and I’m in a position that I can," Gallo, who is a heavy duty mechanic, said. "I figured this is something nice I could do to help out." Darrell Roze, executive director of the Child Development Centre, said this is an amazing donation by a member of the community. “We provide support to children with special needs and those with developmental challenges,” Roze said. “The vast majority of our provincial money goes to paying for the professionals who help the children and so the money we are able to raise or that is donated to us goes to specialized equipment that helps the children.”“Thank you so much to Dan, this is such a huge benefit to us and the children in this community,” Roze said to Gallo.

The CDC has an equipment loan program that allows families to utilize equipment that is often only required for a short time. Borrowing equipment provides a way to lessen the financial burden for families.
