Arizona teachers will be at the state capitol today, talking to lawmakers about what they call an 'educator retention crisis' in the state.
PHOENIX — Dozens of Arizona educators with the Arizona Education Association will meet at the state Capitol Wednesday to speak out about their experiences with what they describe as the educator retention crisis.
They believe the result is the shortage of teachers and education support professionals, which in turn causes the teachers left to have to take on more students in a classroom. AEA President Marisol Garcia said her time as an eighth grade teacher wasn't only physically and emotionally draining, it sometimes also felt hopeless.
