The Arizona Coyotes announced Monday that forward Jason Zucker will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury. Zucker sustained the injury during the Coyotes 2-1 home opener victory over the Anaheim Ducks.

Zucker’s incident was not seen visibly, but prior to the third period, it was announced he was out for the remainder of the game. Zucker scored a power play goal in the first period, which marked his second of the year.The Coyotes have recalled forwards Jan Jenik and Zach Sanford from the Tucson Roadrunners .The Coyotes signed Zucker to a one-year, $5.3 million contract on July 1.

Zucker was a former second-round No.59 overall pick of the Wild in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and spent parts of nine seasons with the Wild to start his career. He was then dealt to the Penguins at the trade deadline in the 2019-20 season, where he spent the past three and a half seasons. Meanwhile, the Coyotes have called up forwards Zach Sanford and Jan Jenik from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Tuscon Roadrunners. Sanford spent the 2022-23 season with the Nashville Predators and their AHL farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals. The 28-year-old has a cap hit of $800k and has appeared in 305 NHL games with the Predators, Washington Capitals, St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, and Winnipeg Jets. Jenik had 23 points in 30 games last season with the Roadrunners.
