REGINA — It was a bitter home loss to the Ottawa Redblacks back on July 31 that helped shape the Argonauts’ season\u002Dlong journey to the Grey Cup game.
How, and why. the Argos were able to advance to this year’s CFL championship can be traced to that humbling afternoon when they were out-scored 10-0 in the second half.
Peters views Jones as his younger brother, but like any family that argue with each other, the two Argos came to blows in the aftermath of the Ottawa loss and needed to be physically separated by teammates. Jones was asked to rehab his separated shoulder away from the Argos. When he returned, he was a new man with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication.
This year’s edition has dealt with the tumult much better, a big reason why the Argos are more than capable of winning on Sunday. Peters capped off his season by being named a CFL all-star and admits there have been moments of family conflict away from the gridiron.
