SB Nation Reacts asked Blue Jays fans for their opinions on the team's recent moves, particularly the non-signing of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Myles Straw trade. Fans share their thoughts on the team's direction and predicted finish for the season.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across Major League Baseball. Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most dedicated Toronto Blue Jays fans and fans from all over the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys. The Jays didn't sign Vladimir Guerrero, which has deeply disappointed me (this is Tom, not Tom_M; I know it can be confusing. I told Tom_M he should change his name).
I strongly believe the Jays should have done whatever it took to secure his signature on a contract. Considering this, along with the Myles Straw trade, it's the first time I've felt the team needs new management. They really can't afford to let Vlad go, but they are. They must trade him; we all know they won't get near his true value. SB Nation Reacts asked if there was a question they should ask Jays fans, and I thought it would be insightful to see if other Jays fans share my feelings. So, here we are. They also want to know where you think the Jays will finish this season. I'm curious about that one too. I could see them finishing anywhere from first to fifth. I can see first place as a stretch, but if Bo and Vlad come into the season thinking this is their contract year, let's get some bucks and carry the team. But, just as likely, the team could start poorly, trade away everyone who even looks like a major leaguer, and finish south of 50 wins. Anyway, vote, and we will reveal the results next week. Tom is reaching out to you from the beautiful city of Cape Town, where he sampled several varieties of South African wines (don't worry, just a taste of each, unless they were particularly good). We also took a gondola ride up to the top of Table Mountain
