A new psychedelic conference centered around bringing awareness to the rising popularity of plant medicine has come to Alaska and if event coordinators have it their way, it won’t be the last time.

“We’re really hoping to change the thought process and that, and to break some of those mind barriers that we have set up around what medicine is supposed to look like or what can actually heal us,” said Clark. “There is, I think, a massive need for a change of policy and a change of mindset shift and how we’re handling traumatic situations and different things.
“I think that the psychedelic Renaissance and the boom here has sparked a lot of interest in plant medicines,” said Rope. “For us as indigenous people, we had connections to some of these plants for eons and so this movement really, my motive is to really share indigenous perspectives with these plants and how we relate to plants, indigenous perspectives just always about the interconnection with nature in itself.
