Arby’s president Rob Lynch as the embattled pizza chain’s CEO Monday, replacing Steve Ritchie, who was on the job for 19 months, as Papa John’s looks to reinvigorate the slowing business and move past the scandals of former CEO and founder John Schnatter.
Lynch has served as Arby’s president since 2017 and is credited with leading the company to 16 quarters of same store sales growth. In 2013 as chief marketing officer, he launched Arby’s “We Have the Meats” campaign. last year that he enabled a toxic company culture, was loyal to Papa John’s controversial founder and CEO and wasn’t qualified to lead the business.: Lynch’s appointment caps a turbulent few years at the company beset by public scandals and boardroom drama.
