ICYMI: Hollywood actor Jason Momoa will film an upcoming TV series in St. Thomas, Ontario

Hollywood actor Jason Momoa, star of big-budget, comic book-inspired films as well as the massive television series Game of Thrones, will film an upcoming TV series in St. Thomas and a call is going out for actors.

“It’s with excitement that we share the news that Apple TV’s series See, starring Jason Momoa , will be filmed outdoors at the former psychiatric hospital on Sunset Drive from February to July of this year,” reads a statement from Sean Dyke, director of the St. Thomas economic development office. A “major recruitment” for background cast will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fanshawe Employment Services, Elgin Centre, 417 Wellington St. in St. Thomas.The premise of the show is that a virus has hammered Earth, leaving only two million people alive and all without sight. The survivors and their descendants must find new ways to interact, build, hunt and survive, according to local officials.Local filming will take place just south of St.

Extras are being told that a work day may last from 10 to 15 hours, a costume will be provided but those hired will be outside for most of the shoot , so appropriate dress is required. Meals and snacks will be provided and there is also a lot of down time. Only those 18 and older will be hired.
