While the internet has opened the door for many more people to learn about the ins and outs of how their favorite movies and TV shows are made, it has also led to some people misunderstanding some fundamental aspects of how things are made and then blowing everything out of proportion.
The list of these things is very long, but one of the biggest things people do not understand is reshoots. Because there have been some high-profile projects where it seemed like the reshoots were the problem, people now assume that any reshoots indicate a movie not working. However, that is not the case. Every movie does reshoots; even a production that ran perfectly likely did some reshoots because it's part of the filmmaking process.
However, Wan was dismissive of all of that, saying, 'Look, I'm a collaborative filmmaker — I welcome people's thoughts and opinions. But ultimately, I feel I have more than proven myself. So, it was like: 'This is the movie I want to make.'' In terms of everything that happened during the production of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and how the film that is likely closing the book on this chapter of DC Universe shakes out, that remains to be seen.
