Apple is embarking on a data collection initiative in Malaysia to enhance its Apple Maps service. The company will deploy teams carrying portable backpacks equipped with LiDAR sensors and cameras to capture imagery of pedestrian-only areas, parks, plazas, and transit stations across Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pinang, Johor, and Melaka.
