On Tuesday, March 8, Apple will reveal its next products including, we think, a new iPhone SE. Here’s why it will be worth it.
March 8 update. The last-minute leak from Ming-Chi Kuo wasn’t the last last-minute leak, it turns out. The last 24 hours or so have seen a slew of suggestions from various sources, relating to today’s launch and beyond. There’s been another tweet from, saying “Apple may release its next GaN charger in 2022, which supports about 30W and has a new form factor design.
Something I hadn’t considered, though, is that the new iPhone SE would have Ceramic Shield on the front, instead of regular glass. That’s great, though I admit I’m sceptical. The new iPhone, it’s claimed will have significantly improved battery life, according to this user. I’ll be honest, much as I’d like this to be true, I really think it’s not very likely. The addition of 5G has helped battery life in not a single phone ever, though maybe Apple has found a way around this.
Which just goes to show, you can’t rely on anyone knowing the full story, apart from the guys in Cupertino. Not long now until we know for certain. It's tough to add 5G antennae to an existing, 4G design, and it can really hurt battery life if not done well. But Apple will have sorted this, making this phone capable of lots more things than even a 4G phone with a similarly fast processor.
Of course, it’s possible that the iPhone SE 2022 might not have this processor in it, but I bet it will. And Ming-Chi Kuo’s latest tweet says so, too.The presence of Touch ID on the front means that the display on the current iPhone SE is just 4.7 inches. That’s smaller than the screen real estate on the iPhone 13 mini with its 5.4-inch screen.
Even so, if you’re wanting to buy the most affordable iPhone, then the SE has a lot to offer for a low price.If it does have the A15 Bionic on board, and the price is around the same as it is now, the next iPhone SE will be the best-value iPhone Apple has ever made, I’d say.
