He was later pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. According to police, Price was still holding a gun after being shot.Police said the incident started when they were called to the Summer Grove apartment complex in northwest Austin just before 12:30 a.m. Callers told police they saw a man walking around the complex with a rifle.
As officers made contact with a group of people in front of an apartment building, police said Price appeared in the breezeway holding a gun. Officers commanded Price to raise his hands and drop his gun, but he reportedly did not comply and instead raised his gun toward the officers. Two officers then shot Price before putting him in handcuffs and attempting life-saving measures.
