Committee Chairman Dick Durbin had invited Roberts to a May 2 hearing on Supreme Court ethics reform, which he declined on Tuesday. Ocasio-Cortez bashed Roberts's decision as threatening the Supreme Court's legitimacy, claiming that by refusing to appear before Congress, he was avoiding accountability.
"Under Roberts, the Supreme Court has unraveled constitutional rights and seen several justices engage in corrupt financial arrangements.
