AnkerWork’s New M650 Wireless Microphones Are The Stylish Choice For TikTokkers Wireless microphones are a hot item right now.
The transmitter units have a 3.5mm jack for using a TRS Lavalier microphone instead of the built-in microphone. A Lavalier microphone enables them to be hidden away in a presenter’s pocket so they look less obtrusive. Each transmitter also has a couple of mounting holes for attaching a furry windshield for recording outdoors in windy conditions.
If you want to record the sound directly to a smartphone, you can use one of the detachable adapters stored in the M650 charging case. The two adapters have USB-C or Apple Lightning connectors so the receiver can be connected directly to the smartphone. Hence, it becomes the default microphone rather than the one built into the smartphone.
The audio files stored on the transmitters can be downloaded simply by docking each unit in the charging case and then connecting it to a computer using a USB-C cable. The transmitters will then mount on the computer desktop as two separate removable storage devices, like a USB drive. Alternatively, the AnkerWork software can be used to transfer the files. The local recording feature could make an excellent covert recording device for investigative journalism.
One feature I like about the M650 is the ability to plug a Lavalier microphone into each transmitter. The audio from the two transmitter units can be recorded as two stereo tracks or one merged mono track. This setting can be adjusted using the screen on the receiver or the AnkerWork software. Overall, this is a high-quality wireless microphone kit with most of the features content creators could want.
