As her career has progressed, Jolie, 49, has also embraced the new opportunities her work has provided. For her upcoming role as renowned opera talent Maria Callas in the biopic “Maria,” the star had to relearn how to sing, and in turn had to overcome years of insecurity spurred on by an ex who once told her she had a bad voice.

She talked about how her career has changed over the years in a new interview with The Sunday Times.In “Maria,” Jolie channels legendary soprano Callas as she grapples with her life, legacy and waning vocal abilities during her lonely last days in Paris.
