Gorden has played in every minute of every league game for Angel City, a feat she first accomplished in 2021 as a member of her hometown Chicago Red Stars
Angel City FC defender Sarah Gorden is heading home to wrap up her birthday week.
“I am excited to go back to the homeland to play the game,” Gorden said. “I am a passionate player and very much an energy player. This is something that really gets me going and excited, getting to go back home and play in Chicago for the first time since I’ve left.” Even after sitting out last season, her first with Angel City FC due to an ACL injury, she’s returned this season and currently has played every minute of every league game this season.
With four games remaining in the regular season, Angel City is in the thick of the playoff race. Angel City began the week on 24 points, just two behind the sixth and final playoff spot. There were just seven points separating first place and ninth place and 11 between first and last place.Angel City is on a 10-game unbeaten streak across league and Challenge Cup competition since Freya Coombe was fired and Becki Tweed was made interim coach.
