UPDATE: Parents of Andrew Freund, the 5-year-old boy who was found dead Wednesday about a week after the father reported him missing, are being held on $5,000,000 bonds.
the following morning, Freund calmly told a dispatcher that Andrew was not at the home when he returned from a doctor's appointment.
Cunningham and Freund both face five counts of first-degree murder. In addition, Cunningham was charged with four counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated domestic battery, and one count of failure to report a missing child death. A spokesman for the agency said they were in contact with Andrew's parents twice last year — once in March and again in December — over unfounded abuse and neglect allegations.reported that Andrew also spent two years in foster care after he was born with opiates in his system.
