The Anaheim Ducks announced Saturday that forward Alex Killorn will be out of the lineup for four to six weeks after suffering a fractured finger in a preseason game last Wednesday against the San Jose Sharks.

Alex Killorn suffered a fractured finger on Wednesday vs. San Jose. He is expected to be out of the lineup 4-6 weeks.Killorn, 34, was an unrestricted free agent signee by the Ducks after the conclusion of a seven-year contract with a $4.45 million cap hit he signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning. General manager Pat Verbeek signed Killorn to a four-year, $6.25 million contract.

Killorn is coming off his best season with the Lighting in 2022-23, with career-highs in goals with 27, assists with 37, and points with 64 in 82 regular season games. He also had three goals, two assists, and five points in six playoff games as the Lightning lost in the first round for the first time since 2019 at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Killorn spent 12 seasons with the Lightning, winning back to back Stanley Cups in 2019-20 and 2020-21.

The Halifax, Nova Scotia product was originally drafted by the Lightning in the third round of the 2007 NHL Draft. He spent four years at Harvard University in the NCAA, where he totalled 53 goals and 56 assists for 109 points in 130 regular season games. In 2011-12, Killorn was named to the NCA East All-American Team, NCAA ECAC All-Tournament Team, NCAA ECAC First All-Star Team and NCAA All-Ivy League First Team.
