Diplo made quite the impression when he showed up to the 2019 VMAs red carpet on Monday night. Arriving in a Nudie-inspired suit—complete with custom embroidery by Fort Lonesome, and tie-dyed by The Elder Statesman—Diplo’s psychedelia-tinged outfit was inspired by his nomination for LSD, a collaborative supergroup comprised of Diplo, British producer Labrinth, and Sia.
Now, Diplo’s shared an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at his big VMAs night. From trying to convince his managers to allow him to show up to the ceremony sans-shirt , to taking selfies on the red carpet, Diplo’s night didn’t end when the VMAs finished. Naturally, the DJ spun records at an afterparty, dancing alongside Miley Cyrus in a cowboy hat, and even made time for a Popeyes pit stop. Take a look at all of Diplo’s shenanigans below—his night was clearly a trip, in more ways than one.
