Amy Schumer and other public figures are defending Gayle King after the CBS This Morning host received harassment and death threats for asking about Kobe Bryant’s sexual assault case during an interview with WNBA star Lisa Leslie.
In her CBS This Morning interview, Leslie said she hadn’t seen Bryant"do something to violate a woman or be aggressive in that way. That's just not the person that I know."Leslie said,"And that's possible. I just don't believe that...” When King raised the question of whether the issue was fair to ask, Leslie responded,"I think that the media should be more respectful at this time.
She also complained that her network took “the most salacious part, when taken out of context” and she praised Kobe as someone who was “very kind and very warm to me.” On Friday, King’s best friend Oprah Winfrey appeared on Today to share how King was coping. “She is not doing well,” said Winfrey. “May I say, she is not doing well. Because she has now death threats and has to now travel with security and she’s feeling very much attacked. You know, Bill Cosby is tweeting from jail, and she’s not doing well and feels that she was put in a really terrible position because that interview had already ran.
