On top of all that, the pandemic forced everyone to deal with things we hadn’t faced before. “I think that so many moms and dads are balancing, still, their toddlers on their knees and their laptops on their desk,” says Klobuchar. “They spent the last two years teaching their first graders how to use a mute button and many of them are in the sandwich generation taking care of their parents and kids at the same time.” The result? Self-care sat ignored on the backburner.
