The film—based on the novel Mallory wrote under pen name A.J. Finn—finds Adams playing a reclusive child psychologist who witnesses a crime while keeping tabs on her intriguing neighbors. Earlier this year aprofile revealed that Mallory was allegedly a serial liar, whose purported deceptions included convincing colleagues he had cancer and sending emails as his brother, Jake, detailing “Dan’s” cancer treatment.
So, how big of a deal is this? “Reshoots” has become an ominous word to some audiences, but the implications can range from benign to disastrous.
