American Girl, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mattel, led by Jamie Cygielman, the general manager and president, has created a content hub, Stay & Play, for young girls to explore, be creative and learn.

"A great example of our team being nimble and leaning in to help is our new Stay & Play content hub," Cygielman states,"which launched just one week after social distancing began. As we saw people's dining rooms and living rooms quickly turn into classrooms, we were eager to lend our support to families and give them new ways to connect, learn and have some fun together.

After Revlon, Cygielman joined the Mattel team as vice president of global marketing for Barbie. After three years, she transitioned five more times within her career. Every position provided more insight and learning experiences setting her up for her role at American Girl. Her last position before rejoining Mattel was as Chief Marketing Officer at Iconix Brand Group.

Cygielman and her team are positioning the brand to be more inclusive and diverse."This year with the introduction of Joss Kendrick," she smiles,"I really love it because there's so much there. She has a hearing impairment, but it doesn't define who she is.
