AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 1080p gaming performance has been leaked

, revealing a stunning CPU for PC gaming that's more than a match for Intel's Core i9-12900K.

Reviews aren't expected until closer to retail availability of the new CPU on 20th April, but this hasn't stopped Xanogaming from publishing gaming performance numbers with an apparent retail sample. Even better is that the benchmarks have been carried out at 1080p, making them more real world than the previous leak of 720p resolution results, which often skew results and result in bigger differences between CPUs.

Above we can see the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Core i9-12900K level-pegging in Assassin's Creed: Origins, but the AMD CPU takes a commanding lead in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, just like we saw with recent 720p numbers in this game. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D goes on to claim the vast majority of wins in the rest of the tests, which you can see in the slideshow above. It should be pointed out, though, that while the CPU is shaping up to be great at gaming, content creation performance might not yield the same benefits.
