.Amazon intends to compete with Microsoft and Google by developing artificial intelligence-powered tools.
Amazon Web Services plans to announce its large language model on Thursday, according to Bloomberg. The models are a form of an algorithm that allows a bot to process and read content and summarize it for the users based on what data were provided to them. The model, known as Titan, would come in two variations. One would generate text, while the other would help power web search personalization for web users. The models will be available on the Amazon Web Services marketplace, known as Bedrock.
Microsoft and Google have been competing with their chatbots. Microsoft invested over $10 billion into OpenAI and installed its latest AI model, GPT-4, into the Bing search engine in March. Google quickly followed by releasing Bard, its chatbot, to the public in late March. Elon Musk and Andrew Yang signed a letter alongside 1,000 other AI researchers in March that called for a six-month pause on all AI training due to the"dangerous" nature of the race to compete with one another.Lawmakers are pushing for increased regulations on AI. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the White House have taken the first steps toward proposing AI guidelines.
