Amazon’s new AI-powered Dialogue Boost function is mercilessly mocked on social media with voice edits of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.

One Twitter user is mocking Amazon Prime Video's new Dialogue Boost feature with his own AI edit "fixing" Bane's voice in The Dark Knight Rises. Christopher Nolan's conclusion to his hit Dark Knight trilogy was released in 2012, and it didn't take long for complaints to start rolling in surrounding Tom Hardy's near-unintelligible dialogue as the mask-wearing villain Bane.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Amazon's Dialogue Boost feature doesn't yet work on The Dark Knight Rises' Bane voice or countless other titles available on the streamer, but cinematographer Devan Scott on Twitter mocks the new feature with his very own AI voice edits for Bane and one scene in The Social Network.

Both of the scenes Scott edits, shared above, feature dialogue in the original mixes that is notoriously difficult to understand, but an AI tool has evidently been used to a hilarious effect to remove all background noise. The AI also seems to modulate or emulate parts of the dialogue that were obscured in the original mix.

Bane's dialogue in The Dark Knight Rises, for example, is occasionally difficult to understand even when played through high-end movie theater sound systems, meaning this issue will only be exacerbated on certain home setups. Depending on the type of TV or sound system a consumer has at home, they could find some dialogue basically unintelligible, which is sure to affect their enjoyment of certain movies and TV shows.

The above issues are only compounded if an individual is hard of hearing. These types of issues or circumstances lead to some consumers having to constantly adjust their TV or sound system volume as they are watching something, which could actually be eliminated with the use of this new boost feature.
