The systems include one that will brush some snow into Newfoundland today and Saturday, with a system set to impact all of Atlantic Canada next Tuesday and Wednesday.

A storm will brush into Newfoundland while high pressure will lead to a fair weekend in the Maritimes, but there’s a system to watch near Colorado for next week.Although the stormy start to March didn’t impact everyone, this week's pattern has been stagnant as blocking high-pressure has caused a backlog of low-pressure systems over the Atlantic, allowing for a persistent northerly flow.

The highest amounts of snow Friday and Saturday are forecast over central and northeastern Newfoundland with 15 to 30-plus cm forecast. Meanwhile, the eastern edge of a large ridge of high pressure to our west will funnel drier air into the Maritimes, allowing for brighter skies on both Saturday and Sunday. This ridge will also keep a storm near Cape Cod Saturday out of the region.
