Heights will face Fort Bend Hightower in a Region III-6A Division II area round playoff...
Heights entered the playoffs with a lot of confidence with a five-game winning streak.
Allen Rainey connected with wide receiver Kevon Misher for a 36-yard touchdown pass with five seconds“The confidence level was always there, but now it’s even higher,” Heights coach Stephen Dixon said. “To beat a team of Stratford’s caliber with that coaching staff and that program means a lot to our kids, the community and the district.”
The game was originally scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, but the game was changed to Friday night due to projected inclement weather coming to the Houston area. “I knew he would be electric as far as running the football,” Dixon said. “I didn’t know how well he would do passing the football. He has exceeded all my expectations. He has put in a lot of work with passing the football during the summer, 7-on-7 and the extra work with his dad and his trainers. He has done a lot of work and he looks phenomenal.”
