🐕 Allen is getting its first city dog park. Here’s what you need to know

In early 2020, the council got its first round of public input. Staff progressed on a master plan for the park, but they paws-ed their work on the project for a bit because of the pandemic.
In November 2021, another public hearing took place. Residents got the chance to speak in favor of or against this project.This month, the construction contract will be finalized, and then public bidding will kick off. The lowest qualified bid will be considered by Allen City Council. The city expects to award a bid in summer 2022.If the city stays with that timeline, the park is expected to be complete in spring 2023. But if the city experiences construction delays — anything is paw-sible.
