A driver has been arrested for impaired driving after he crashed into multiple cars in the Lake Cowichan Country Grocer parking lot.
Lake Cowichan RCMP officers arrested an 84-year-old man for impaired driving after he crashed into multiple cars in the Country Grocer parking lot on Oct. 9.
“While on scene, the suspect provided a breath sample and was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.”“One vehicle struck five vehicles in the end, two vehicles were rendered not driveable,” said Doug Knott, chief of Lake Cowichan FirePhilecia Isaacson, a Lake Cowichan resident, was inside the Country Grocer, paying at the till when she heard the commotion.
Several shoppers ran outside to see what happened and some stayed to help on the scene. Others who were in the parking lot quickly ran inside to get out of the way.
