The Legion in Bay Roberts has been compiling biographies of the veterans in or from the area. So far they've completed over 250 biographies. - ContributedBAY ROBERTS, N.L. — Many people in the Bay Roberts area have armed forces veterans in their family history - some who have returned, and some who never made it back home.

Legion branch president Harold Brown and webmaster Gary Badcock, both veterans themselves, are the duo behind the project, which they said is an honour to do.The project came about initially because of Brown's interest in his family military history. He thought it would be nice for others to know the history of the people in the area who served, so he approached Badcock about the idea, and it went from there.
