Scotland has now become the second UK nation to confirm rollout of jab to younger children, alongside Wales.
It comes after the health Minister for Wales, Eluned Morgan made the move, making Wales the first UK nation to vaccinate all children.'Although it has yet to be published officially by the JCVI, like colleagues in Wales we have received advice from the JCVI which recommends COVID-19 vaccination for all children aged five to 11-years-old.
In Scotland and Wales, the vaccine had already been offered to those aged between five and 11 who are considered 'at risk', as well as to children over the age of 12.In a statement, Ms Morgan confirmed the change for Wales.'Children in this age group who are classed as being at clinical risk are already being offered the vaccine and more than one in four have already taken up the offer of vaccination.
