It was the fourth week in a row that Cuyahoga County kept its 'green' status.
This week, 86 of Ohio’s 88 counties were classified as green, the designation for the lowest level of COVID-19 spread in the three-tier color-coded system.
Cuyahoga County was classified as green for one week in February but reverted to yellow classification - for moderate concern - the following week. Prior to February, the last time Cuyahoga County had been designated green was March 2022, when the CDC began its color-coded county map system showing COVID-19 spread.
Over the last several weeks, the number of Ohio counties that have been designated green has steadily increased. Last week eight counties received yellow designations, and six of them have since been given a green designation. Joining the green list this week were Fulton, Lucas, Ottawa and Wood counties in Northwest Ohio, and Champaign and Clark counties in Southwest Ohio.
Counties are classified as low , medium or high under the CDC’s system for estimating the risk of COVID-19 infection.
