Alex Jones, the 'Infowars' host and founder, was ordered by a Texas judge to pay the full $49 million award to the parents of a Sandy Hook victim.
reports. The order challenged a state law that caps punitive damages in lawsuits at $750,000.
Meanwhile, Connecticut Judge Barbara Bellis will hear arguments in early December over Jones’ request for a new trial in an attempt at reducing the a jury granted to families of eight of the Sandy Hook victims in October, which Jones calls “a substantial miscarriage of justice.”Infowars , a far-right conspiracy theory website, faces bankruptcy and additional defamation lawsuits totaling about $1.48 billion.
