Alec Baldwin's criminal case has been dismissed in New Mexico in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer.
Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer dismissed the case with prejudice based on the misconduct of police and prosecutors over the withholding of evidence from the defense in the shooting ofBaldwin cried and embraced his attorneys after the decision was announced.
The defense argued that prosecutors hid evidence from them about the ammunition that may be related to the shooting death ofAlec Baldwin listens during his involuntary manslaughter trial for the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during filming of the Western movie"Rust," in Santa Fe, N.M., Friday, July 12, 2024. “We don’t know if it’s a live ammunition match or not,” Baldwin’s attorney Luke Nikas told the judge.
