Meanwhile, a trio of candidates affiliated with the Conservative Party of Canada came out on top in Alberta’s election of three potential senators. Alberta does not have the power to elect senators. The three winners will have their names put forward by the province for consideration by the federal government officials who appoint people to the Senate.
