Alberta to start vaccinating children over six months old beginning next week
Alberta is to begin taking bookings for COVID-19 vaccinations and administering the shots for children ages six months to five years starting Tuesday.The government says the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine is to be administered at Alberta Health Services clinics across the province.
Children on First Nations can access doses through nursing stations or public health clinics on-reserve. The province says pharmacists will not be delivering these doses, as their scope of practice is for shots for those five years and older. First-dose appointments must be booked through the Alberta Vaccine Booking System or by calling Health Link at 811.
