A three\u002Dyear member of the Alberta RCMP is facing an assault causing bodily harm charge related to an arrest in Fort Saskatchewan in 2021.

“An interaction occurred between the male and one of the officers and a number of nearby community peace officers and private citizens came to the aid of the officer,” police said. The next day, the director of law enforcement was notified and while the matter was deemed “in scope” of the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, RCMP were directed to investigate.
