Alberta invests $86M into rural water, transportation infrastructure projects ableg abpoli

At a press conference on Wednesday morning in Okotoks, officials announced $58.7 million will support 33 water infrastructure projects provincewide and another $27.4 million will go to 45 rural transportation projects set to build and maintain roads, bridges and community airports. Combined, the province says the projects will create more than 1,000 jobs.

One of the larger water projects, funded by a Water for Life grant, is a new raw water supply pipeline in Okotoks and Foothills County, which will bring reliable access to clean drinking water and support the region as it grows. Approved initiatives under the water partnership grant include a new water treatment plant with upgraded capacity for Canmore, a wastewater lagoon upgrade in Valleyview and new wells and a water connection in Sylvan Lake.Article content
