The 2023 Alberta International Airshow goes Aug. 5 and 6 at the Villeneuve Airport and will feature the de Havilland DH-115, the “World’s Oldest Flying Jet Fighter,” provided by Vampire Airshows. Organizers promise “the best lineup in the show’s history.”Dracula’s private jet will be joined by the beloved Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds, the CF-18 Demonstration Team, the USAF A-10 Demonstration Team, the Canadian Forces Skyhawks Parachute Team and others.
Interactive static displays, a kids’ zone, motocross performers, a monster truck, exotic cars, and food trucks will also be stationed within the airshow grounds. Also scheduled to be in the air next weekend is Undaunted Airshows, billed as a “dynamic high energy two-ship aerobatic formation team” from the Pacific Northwest.
“Alberta’s motto is Fortis et Liber which I think is super cool,” said Todd Rudberg, Undaunted Airshows pilot. Fortis et Liber is Latin meaning strong and free. “We think the same way, and we’re really stoked to be a part of the show.”. Cash is not accepted at the gate.
