“This is now creating ripple effects throughout the entire system,” he said. “This is happening throughout the entire industry. These particular challenges are happening in the week before Christmas, which is one of the busiest weeks in the year. So the possibilities for re-accommodations are actually really low because all planes are fully booked.”

There should be some kind of contingency plan, this is ridiculous.” “Safety is the first priority, and as long as it is safe to fly we make sure that passengers get to their destination,” said Vijay Bathija, chief commercial officer for Lynx Air. “I understand that everybody wants to go home for the holiday. So it is our objective to make sure that their flight is as comfortable as possible but still safe.”
